Russia exports 38.6 million carats of diamonds in 2019

The Russian exporter's website reported on April 23 that in 2019 Russia exported 38.6 million carats of diamonds, a decrease of 12.7% compared with 2018, and the total export was US $ 3.8 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 24.9%.
In 2019, Russian diamonds are exported to 16 countries. The main importing country is Belgium and the main supplier is Yakutia.
In 2019, Russia exported 8.6 million carats of industrial diamonds, a year-on-year decrease of 32.3%, and the total export volume was 62.8 million US dollars, a decrease of 29.8%. The main importers of Russian industrial diamonds are Belgium, India and the UAE.
Non-industrial diamond exports fell by 4.8% to 30 million carats, and total exports were US $ 3.7 billion, down 24.8%. More than half of the diamonds are exported to Belgium, and a large number of diamonds are exported to India, the UAE, Israel and Hong Kong.
Non-industrial diamonds are used in the jewelry industry. Industrial diamonds are diamonds of inferior quality that cannot be used as gemstones, but can be used in industrial diamonds.
